Description of service
Interior painting must be done every so often. My rule is every 10 years for lightly used rooms. Bathrooms, mudrooms, kitchens and family rooms should be painted more often because the walls may get dirty. If you have kids or pets, the walls may need a touch up every two or three years. Of course the best reason to paint is to redecorate and change the color and feel of the room. Painting yourself is not an option for everyone. Interior painting may involve climbing ladders, kneeling and holding your head and neck in odd postures. Usually, I do the painting myself. This time I decided to hire a painter to do my three bedrooms since my back was bother me. The charge was $375 for three small rooms.
Review of Service
I hired the painter on the recommendation of a friend. He said he had insurance although I'm not quite sure how to verify that. He said he would help move the furniture but asked that all the clutter was out of the room. I wound up taking most things out of the room myself and pushing the bigger items to the middle. While he was here I was constantly checking that the tarp covered the rug and furniture. He did not use tape around the molding. I was concerned that he would paint the trim but he had a steady hand. Overall the painting quality was good. The hardest part was letting someone else take control after so many years of doing it yourself.
Tips
A recommendations from a friend seems to be the best way to find a painter. If possible go to thier house to see the completed work. Look at the edging around the trim to see if your satisfied with the detail work.
