the Cost of Municipal Water Service

I get municiple water service from the city I live in. Since I have quite a large family, seven of us in all live in the same household, my water consuption is more than others and therefore I pay more each month. The total cost of my last bill, May 2008, was $49.82 which is just about the average I pay each month. There is no set cost, and the price can fluctuate depending on how much I use, but the bill is usually around $50.

I don't have anything to compare it to, this is the only house I have had to pay the water bill on. I do see on my bill that this charge includes water, sewage and taxes. The municiple water service is the only option I have, so I guess I have to be happy with what I got. There have been a few times where the water wasn't available, or like when the news tells me there is a water boil advisory, but these instances are far and few between and not really a bother at all.

I don't have many tips, other than watch what you use. Because you are billed by the gallon you use, try not to use more and you should seen a difference in your bill. You should also make sure all of your pipes are in shape as even the smallest leak can cost you a bunch of money.
