My water service does not include sewer. The rural area we live in requires each home to have their land "perked" and to own private septic service (tank and field lines).
Review of Service
Our water service is in a rural area. The water pressure is generally ok, but not nearly as strong as family and friends that live in urban areas. Any line flushing or fire truck water needs STRONGLY diminishes your pressure and may leave you with rusty colored water for days.
Tips
Find out the emergency contact number for your water department ahead of time. This is very valuable information in the event that you accidently break something when you try to turn water off at the meter to do a plumbing repair yourself. Also, in rural areas especially, the volunteer fire department and water company may be intricately related as it is in our situation. The same gentleman that's over the water department is in charge of the volunteer fire departments in the area. If you have a water bed mattress or a medium to large swimming pool to fill, allow extra time. You will not have the water pressure to fill it as quickly as those on a regular urban water system.
