Description of service
Nanny was responsible for primary childcare while both parents were working away from the home. She was required to get the older children up for school in the morning and see that they got dressed/teeth brush/etc, and had breakfast before driving them to their two schools. During the day, she was a playmate to the youngest, cleaning during his nap, and prepared dinner for when the kids came home. She picked up the older children from school and served dinner, then assured their homework was done- helping when necessary before leading supervised play time and putting them to bed.
Review of Service
Excellent service. It was a long process interviewing, but the nanny really 'gelled' with the family which helped both the kids and the parents transition into trusting her in such an important position.
Tips
Make sure not to rush the decision. While it may seem that most people can handle the job, this is someone who will be seeing the children as often as you do, and you want to make sure they will not just 'manage', but will excel. See that they have at least some interests complimentary to the family's, so that they might have common ground with the kids.
Make sure ahead of time that duties and requirements are clearly laid out- schedules are important, but also make sure that the nanny has a driver's license and good record if he/she will be driving.
