Description of service
We recently got custody of my boyfriends one year old twins (one boy, one girl) and required daycare for them. We have them every other week so traditional daycares were not an option as we'd have to pay for the weeks that they werent there as well. We have a lady in her mid-thirties that is well off and does not need to work but wanted to have something to do. The every other week works well for her as she than has time off to do what she wants but also has things to keep her busy as well. She arrives at 6:15 in the morning and stays until 4:30 in the afternoon. If the twins are not up in the morning before I leave she gets them up and dresses them in the clothes I've laid out for them, feeds them breakfast, and than cares for them through the day. She will prepare simple lunches of either mac & cheese, sandwiches (or for them just bread and torn up lunch meat), and than takes them for a walk, and lays them down for a nap.
Review of Service
She does a very good job with the children and they seem to care for her. We called references that she provided and also paid for a criminal background search to make sure that she had not been convicted of any crime. My boyfriend is home during the day but is sleeping as he works nights, so if something were to happen he is right there the entire time.
Tips
Make sure you do a complete check on the individual you plan to hire and maybe drop in unannounced a few times to check on them and see how the children are really interacting with the nanny and how she is doing with them.
