Description of service
I recently had a bout with the flu. Although I had been given a flu shot in October, I still got sick. I went to our local Emergency Walk In clinic as I do not have a doctor here. The place was not very busy maybe 5 people ahead of me. I signed in and was given a sheet to fill out. They said the nurse practitioner was there and would see me shortly.
Review of Service
Two hours passed and I had not seen anyone. The people ahead of me had gone and new ones arrived. I went to the desk to find out how much longer and was told I needed to pay first. They had not told me that in the beginning. So I paid my $40.00 and waited a good 30 minutes longer. I saw the nurse practitioner, got my blood pressure checked and my temperature taken. Told me I had the flu and to drink lots of liquids and stay in bed for a few days. If I got worse come back.
Tips
Be very careful when going to these walk-in clinics. Although my cost were not bad, they can sometimes charge lots for things like x rays. If you time waiting goes beyond reasonable, talk to the receptionist and make sure you have not been forgotten. Also, make sure of the clinic prior to going. check up on them while you are not ill so when they are needed you know which one to go to.
