Description of service
I sprained my ankle playing sports and was worried it might be something more than just a sprain after it didn't improve after a few days. I went to an urgent care clinic that worked on a sliding scale. I paid $75.00 for the doctor's visit.
Review of Service
We waited almost 3 hours to be seen. To be fair, this was a sliding scale place and my injury wasn't very serious. Still, I wish they had the option to make appointments but this place did not. The staff did their best to get everyone through as quickly as possible - which was good. However, it also gave me the feeling when I was finally seen that they were trying to get me through as quickly as possible - I felt rushed and as though the doctor wasn't very thorough. The doctor felt around my ankle and elected not to take an x-ray. He recommend I get crutches and stay off the ankle as much as possible. He also recommended I ice it and keep it elevated, which I was already doing. Although I didn't really get any new or helpful information but it did put my mind at ease. The ankle did heal just fine.
Tips
Be prepared to wait a long time. Also, you get what you pay for. Don't expect a doctor who has the luxury to take his time with you.
