the Cost of Urgent Care Clinics

I went in to the urgent care clinic because I was having chest pains,heart palpitations, as well as problems breathing. We were travelling so we weren't familiar with the area, but we asked and were told about this center. When I went in, they took me right back and started treating me for heart problems. They gave me aspirin, oxygen and started an ekg. They also gave me a pill to see if it affected my heart rate. It didn't. They couldn't figure out why I was experiencing these symptoms. They had no idea what was causing them.

I feel that the service would have been okay had I had a heart attack. I didn't. After they had done all the tests on me, I mentioned that I had previously had problems with acid reflux. Then the doctor said that maybe that was causing my symptoms. He gave me a liquid to swallow and it tasted awful. He said if this worked, it means I just had acid reflux. I felt better after I drank it, but then I threw up for the next three days. The doctor really didn't know what was wrong with me. I was the one who told him what it might be. He never even mentioned it before I did.

Don't think that doctors know everything. Many times you know more than they do. They don't even read everything that you fill out in those forms they give you. Make sure the doctor knows what meds you are taking and what you have been treated for before. Carry the meds you are on with you at all times. Don't be afraid of questioning the doctor.
