the Cost of Urgent Care Clinics

I had trouble breathing, I thought because of my allergies so I decided it was time to go to the doctor. I had been suffering for quite a few days and it would hit me mostly at night when I would lay down. I don't have any health insurance and after one place turned me down because they only see "well" patients I decided to check out my local urgent care clinic.

I called them up and they only take walk-ins which is definitely a downside. Once I got there there was only one Dr. working and there were about 5 people in line in front of me. The wait time was about two hours. When I finally got in to see the Dr. she was very friendly and seemed very caring. I expected her to rush me in and rush me out due to them being so busy. But she took her time and even checked my blood pressure and my eyes because I wear contacts and she wanted to make sure that they weren't scratched up from rubbing them so much. Even though the wait was long this is by far the best doctor I have ever been to.

If you're not a very patient person you may want to go another route, such as scheduling an appointment with your family physician. But if you don't have health insurance going to the urgent care center can help you come out cheaper. They even had an option where you could set up a payment plan if you couldn't afford to pay the full amount the day of service.
