Description of service
This was for a 40 minute wait in the waiting room and twenty minute ordeal in the exam room. Blood pressure, respiration and temperature were checked and a throat swab was performed to check for strep throat.
Review of Service
While this is a no-frills office visit, if you are totally miserable and can't wait for your regular doctor and don't want an ER visit, this is the place to be. The wait is generally a LOT shorter than an ER visit and the cost is WAY cheaper!
Tips
Call ahead to see what the operating hours are. Some are open 24 hours daily, some are only open when the average physician's office is closed. Find out if they will file insurance for you or if you are expected to file it yourself. If you don't have insurance, find out if they offer payment plans (most do with a set amount paid up front, in my case $65). Also, if it is extremely late night or early morning, find out where the best place to go for prescriptions is since your regular pharmacy may be closed. Sometimes you are referred to the local hospital's pharmacy. Also, be sure to check and see if any follow up care should be provided by your regular doctor.
