the Cost of Mobile Broadband Internet Access for a Phone

Every month, I pay $20 for Internet access; this includes unlimited Mobile Broadband Access. This means I can access the Web wherever I am, and I use this most often for checking email and websites on the go.

The network is slow, but generally reliable. I find myself occasionally frustrated when taking a train ride, because the Mobile Broadband drops out occasionally. Overall, however, Mobile Broadband has completely changed the way I think about my phone; when I'm on the go, I know I can quickly access restaurant locations, reviews, get driving directions, etc. Also, it means I have email access at practically any time that I desire.

Coverage is pretty ubiquitous, which is great since you never know when you might need it.

If you have a Wi-Fi point available often, getting Mobile Broadband can often be a waste of money, since some phones can connect through Wi-Fi.

If you can get a phone with 3G access, do, since this service is much faster than my service.

Different carriers will offer different Mobile Broadband services; research which one best fits your budget and needs before signing up.
