Description of service

I pay $30.00 a month for mobile broadband internet service for my PDA style phone. Included with the $30.00 a month fee is unlimited internet access at 1.5 mbps. This service is not nationwide yet and is only available in the major united states cities. If the 3G, or broadband, service is not available my mobile phone will revert back to the 2G network. At its best, the 2G network will get about 700 kbps. If I want text messaging, picture messaging or voice minutes the cost is extra. The $30 a month also does not include laptop tethering, which is an additional charge on top of what I already have.

Review of Service

The service is great when I get the correct coverage. It is very fast. I stream music and videos on my phone, which you can't do on the older network. The $30 a month seems to be a very high price, but is on level with the other wireless carriers in my area. The only thing I don't like is when i'm on the edge of my city and am in between 2G and 3G coverage my phone jumps back and forth between the two and causes service issues, like dropping signal and losing internet connection.

Tips

Shop around and see what is available. I went with what was cheapest and am happy with what I have. You can also check the internet for good deals.
