the Cost of Mobile Broadband Internet Access for a Phone

I have broadband internet access on my mobile phone and pay my nationally known company $15 for unlimited access. There are differnt levels of access at different price points, but I went with the unlimited to prevent me from getting overage charges. The speed is advertised as 1.5 mbps, but I have tested it many times at a lower speed. I had to pay for the cost of my phone, which was relativly cheap because I signed a two year contract.

The service is great for what I need it for. Obviously i'm not doing most of my internet use on my phone, but I do watch streaming video, email and browse mobile web pages to no avail. I have done speed tests numberous time and the speed is actually closer to 900 kbps than it is to 1.5 mbps. I was told by my providor this was normal, and speed can depend on how good your cellular signal is, but my signal is usually at full strength.

I pay $15 a month, which isn't much for what I get out of it. You can shop around and see what your mobile carrier offers. Most companies are going to want you to sign a long contract, so if you dont want to do this you might look into a prepaid service where there is no contract.
