the Cost of Mobile Broadband Internet Access for a Phone

The price is the monthly charge for a high-speed unlimited data connection / unlimited voice minutes / unlimited text messaging / unlimited domestic roaming on a smart phone. The individual services are inseparable on this plan -- and from all plans by this provider in my area -- but prices for plans with unlimited data access start at $30/month.

As a major cell company, they offer a variety of phones, wireless data cards, and cell phone plans at prices that vary depending on the number of minutes and the extent of the coverage.

The data speeds are good, but not what I'm used to at home with broadband internet. And the price is certainly better (about $70/month cheaper) than I'd been paying previously for cell and data service. The connection is good with no dropped connections so far. With the unlimited data I'm about 95% satisfied with the service, if only because I haven't had to use customer service yet and the company has a bit of a bad reputation in that area.

Deals are weird. I'd been looking at replacing my cell provider for about eight months and in that time prices have plummeted and services have become much simpler. I'm glad I waited, but also glad I eventually just decided to plunk down the money once I saw something I'd be happy with.
