Description of service
Monthly charge for a storage unit measuring 10x20 feet. The unit was enclosed in a secure facility with a gate system and barbed wire. It was large enough to accomodate all the belongings from our 6 room home.
Review of Service
When we moved out of our home, we had to store all of our belongings for several months while our new house was being prepared. This storage facility was brand new, so we felt it was perhaps more secure than some others. There was a code on the gate to get in and security measures like barbed wire that made us feel it was safe. The company was willing to work with us to have our parents fill out paperwork since we were moving into the area they lived in. They set up automatic payments so that we did not have to worry about late fees.
The only problem we encountered was when the automotic payments we set up somehow did not start up automatically. Apparently the office staff missed a piece of paperwork that had to be signed and neglected to tell my parents that I had to sign it, so we ended up having to pay a late fee the first month.
The second month of service was free, like many other places offer.
The office was open during normal business hours monday through saturday. When we closed out the account, all we had to do was drop a paper in their mailbox stating that we had cleaned out the unit and we had no further obligation.
For what the service was, I did not have any serious compaints.
Tips
Storage is not something that I enjoyed paying for by any means. If there would have been other options, I certainly would have pursued them. If cost is an issue, try emptying your bin a bit at a time over a couple of weeks instead of hiring a truck for the move. Storage costs can add up quickly and are usually best to be avoided unless you have no other option.
