I wanted something different for my hair, so I decided to go out on a limb and try dreadlocks. I'd seen them on a few other people and liked the way they looked, so I asked around to find out where they got theirs done. I followed one of the recommendations after some web reviews confirmed that it was a great place to go, and made an appointment there to get my dreads. Along with the style, I got instructions as to how to take care of my dreads, along with some wax and special shampoo.
Review of Service
The place I ended up going to wasn't really my kind of place - it gave off a really strong hippie vibe, which I'm not so fond of, but these guys really knew their stuff about dreadlocks. They talked me through everything they did, apparently in case I wanted to do it myself for someone else, and explained really well how I needed to take care of my hair. It left me with a good feeling and great hair, hippie or no.
Tips
Definitely ask around. Your friends will know if people know their stuff, and will be happy to direct you to the right place.
