Description of service
I have signed up for a checking and savings account at a nation wide bank, but is local to my home. I get free checks once a year that I hardly use because they have given me a check card. I use the card most of the time, but at times I have to use an actual check. I prefer to use the card, it's much easier and using it makes it impossible to overdraft. When I am forced to use a check and I acidentally overdraft my account, I am charged a $35 fee, and if I don't correct the situation, IE pay the check and fee, I get hit with more fees.
Review of Service
I like my bank, but this is my only problem with them. I have a savings account, with money in it, so I don't understand why they don't just take the money from there. Instead they charge me $35, even when I overdraft small amounts, like this most recently I overdrafted $1.36.
Tips
Use your check card or cash whenever you can. My bank won't let me overdraft through my check card, the transaction will be denied at the point of sale if the money is not in my account. An inconvience for sure, but less of a one than having to pay $35 for going over on my account.
