Description of service
This was the cost of one month of group therapy for one hour a week and included coping strategies, stress relieving exercises and deep breathing exercises, handouts and homework as well.
Review of Service
Through the course of the session, we were allowed to participate at our own comfort level, though at times, I did yearn for the intimacy and privacy of a one-on-one session. The group was in a private room, with the door closed so only the patients involved and the doctor knew what was going on; and you are allowed to give an alias, with only the doctor knowing your real name. My insurance company would not cover the session and there was no sliding fee scale offered at this institution.
I further liked the interaction the therapist brought to the table by not making us a "session," but showing that he wanted us to continue using what we learned and to continue exploring what we were working on by giving us homework assignments. Most importantly, there was a lightness in the mood with a good sense of humor, I think that is really important when working on sensitive material with a group of strangers.
Tips
Seriously search your comfort zone and whether this is something you want to take part in or that you think you can be a part of before committing to the money.
