The $29 is a per month fee for the pet insurance policy. Instead of one of the complicated reimbursement coverage type policies out there, this policy is more of a flat-coverage policy that pays a flat amount for each vet visit with us paying a co-pay. Usually it amounts to the insurance paying 80% of every bill, and us paying 20%. The coverage includes almost all standard vet-visits, including standard medical treatments, surgeries, lab fees, X-rays, prescriptions and more.

We are very pleased with the flat-rate style of service. We definitely are saving at paying only $29 per month. We wouldn't have been able to have afforded some of our dog's vets bills otherwise. We looked into a lot of reimbursement-style plans but did not like them. Seemed complicated and wasteful. We are thrilled with the plan we have, an would recommend it to anybody.

My tip would be to do your homework, and pick the right plan for you and your pet. Pet insurance isn't always a good deal, but it can be if you have a pet that tends to require a lot of medical attention. If you do think you need a plan, go for a flat-rate style plan as opposed to a reimbursement plan.
