the Price of a Root Canal

I had a root canal done in February of 2007. The price of 480 dollars included the price of the actual root canal but did not include the extra I paid the oral surgeon after to do the filling and the crown.

I had my regular dentist do this procedure instead of opting for a specialist. This ended up being a good and a bad thing. On the plus side I had it done by someone I was very comfortable with and had a relationship with. On the negative side I wasn't able to get everything done at the same place which would have been nice. I also think next time I will probably go with someone whose specialty is doing root canals. My dentist did a good job as far as I can tell but I hear that it could have been done quicker by a specialist. And who doesn't want to spend as little time as possible in that dentists chair?

I think everyone should definitely either go with their own dentist or have their dentist recommend someone to them. Don't just pick someone out of the book as it is a pretty major producdure and you'll regret it if it's not done right.
