Description of service
The price was for a day's rental on a full size pickup truck from a major rental company. The price included insurance ($15) and the truck for unlimited mileage ($75), plus taxes and assorted fees ($10).
Other vehicles were available from $20/day to $300/day (before taxes, insurance, fees, mileage, deposit, etc) depending on the type and make and model of the vehicle.
Review of Service
We needed to move some stuff out of storage to sell it so we rented a truck for a weekend. We only ended up needing it for one day so the rental company was kind enough to refund the second day we prepaid when we returned the truck early. They did however run a credit check to determine our deposit (zero). I think that's something that has been happening far too often lately.
Tips
I don't own a truck because I don't need to use one that often. If I had to use one a lot, I'd buy a secondhand diesel truck that's a decade or more old. Shouldn't cost more than a couple grand and in the long run would save over renting. I wouldn't bother buying a new one unless I really needed it for work.
