Description of service
The price paid was for a three session class on basket weaving at the beginner's level, including the cost of the materials for the creation of our baskets, which included the strips of wicker that would be woven together, glue and other fastening devices that were used to secure the loose parts of the baskets together, and paints to decorate the baskets with patterns and designs.
Review of Service
The class was fun and interesting, especially for me being someone who is interested in crafting but wanting to learn different crafting techniques from the beginning up. The class I took was taught by someone who was an expert craftsperson, and thus was able to provide us with instruction that included both beginning technique (which is what the class was intended for) but also some more advanced techniques for us at the end of the class sessions. The projects that we worked on in the three classes were simple, but also practical, as I was able to use the projects I made at home for some decorative additions to our kitchen.
Tips
For anyone looking to participate in a crafting class for any reason, make sure right away to make sure that the class teaches something that you're going to want to do beyond just in the class. Crafting classes, while fun, should be something that gives you a foundation to work on your own projects. In choosing a class, make sure that you're going to be able to attend all of the class sessions, and that the time commitment won't conflict with another happening that you might be participating in, as the class fees are often non refundable for missing a course. Also, make sure that any craft class you participate in notes whether the cost for materials is included in the course cost or if materials are extra - this can save you from a pricey surprise later on.
