the Cost of Hair Color with Highlights

This particular visit to the salon was for all-over color (lighter than natural hair color) and a trim. My usual stylist was unavailable for appointments so this was my first visit to this salon on the recommendation of a close friend. After arriving for my appointment, my hair was washed, then lightened, then colored, and finally washed trimmed and styled. The costs listed on my receipt were:

Double process hair coloring- $130

Hair Trim and Style- $20

Gratuity- $40

Overall, I found the hair coloring services of this salon to be poor. After a long discussion about what color I did not want my hair to end up, I still ended up with that color. When I pointed this out, the stylist attempted to sell me on the fact that this color actually looked great on me. To appease me, a rinse was applied without appreciable effect. The other services performed during this visit were all performed well. For the price, which was considerably higher than I paid at my usual salon, I was not very satisfied. In the end, I went back to my usual salon to have the color fixed.

When getting your hair colored, I would use a stylist you know or someone recommended by your stylist (not a recommendation from a friend).
