the Price of Massage at a Massage School

The location and massage school for the service were very professional. The waiting room was busy yet peaceful. I was greeted by a receptionist, checked-in, and waited for my appointment time. The school was active with students, teachers, independent contractors, and retail sales. I paid $35 for the massage to the school and gave the student therapist an $8 tip.

Every service leading up to the massage itself was excellent! The receptionist was bubbly, my randomly assigned massage therapist was alert, clean, well groomed, and didn't look the least bit uncomfortable, which actually sometimes may be the case if they are brand new. I was queried by my therapist in a therapeutic fashion, describing and explaining all my sore spots and potential contraindications. I was left alone a moment to disrobe completely (or only to underwear for some). I then stayed under sheets in dignity for the duration of the massage, which was excellent. The massage lasted 55 minutes with a variety of modalities I chose from my assigned therapist's skill set--their skill sets, interests, and natural talent will vary. The table had a heating pad and several layers of fresh sheets and padding. The table was firm yet very cushioned, music was ambient, lights very dim, and hallway noise was minimal. I was allowed my preference of oil or lotion, and body regions. When we finished, I was thanked and left alone to dress and walk myself out.

I recommend staying open-minded to everything. You never know if you'll get a beginner that barely knows Swedish massage, or an advanced almost-graduated student who knows every modality you prefer--they are allowed to specialize. You may also get a guy or a girl. Depending on the building's climate-control and time of day, the person may also be exhausted and even all sweaty! Massage school is definitely a fun place for cheap therapeutic massages and they are generally safe places to assume there is nothing illegal going on inside them.
