The Judo lessons were divided into a total of 20 weeks of training or almost 5 months with 2 sessions per week lasting about one hour each. The cost included the entire training program of five months including professional fees and taxes. The cost did not include the cost of the attire and other training equipment required.
Review of Service
Judo is one of the best known forms of Japanese martial arts whose main focus is focusing on your opponents energy and converting it for your own gain. However since it concentrates on hand to hand combat, my main aim of learning it was due to my interest and also as a form of personal defense. The instructor was an extremely well trained martial arts teacher from Taiwan who had knowledge of multiple types of martial arts. The training room was perfect and the students were given ample opportunity to practice and interact in real life like situations. The training room was plush and matted so that the students do not get hurt inadvertently. The main teacher also had 2-3 helpers who were also well versed in Judo.
Tips
Judo mainly focuses on a technique named grappling which almost immobilizes your opponent totally. The form of Judo I learned was for preparatory self defense. However if one is interested in martial arts competitively then he/she can learn along with international rules which are valid in competitions. The 'kata' or predetermined synchronized defensive movements of Judo are mostly not used in competitions. My teacher was affiliated to USJA and I graduated to Green belt. There is also one more association named USJF for Judo in US.
