Description of service
My son is currently just starting to learn how to play the trumpet for school. Using a list of tutors provided by the school's music department. The cost was entirely for time, as he provided no materials except for a few photocopied simple sheet music songs. Each lesson lasted approximately 45 minutes.
Review of Service
The instructor provided a series of patient lessons in order to help my son learn the basics of the instrument, as well as a better appreciation of music. The instructor provided better information on how to read sheet music, and how to form the proper notes than was provided in the public school. They did a good job in transferring his knowledge, which helped my son be better at playing the trumped than many of his other classmates. The downside is his schedule was always changing, and it was difficult to lock down one specific weekly time for the tutoring.
Tips
Do not be afraid to ask the instructor to cover certain topics, and to let them know exactly you would like them to work on during the session. Also, if working on a school student, be sure to ask the teacher for tips and suggestions on what should be covered.
