Description of service
The breakdown for goods and services was fairly odd, we were billed for two house calls ($50 for diagnosis and one $50 for repair) as well as $150 for parts. This was unusual as the washer was only 13 months old and was purchased from the location that provided the repair. The washer itself only cost $900 to begin with.
Review of Service
Horrible, the service was the absolute worst service I have ever received (at least from the first technician and his manager). The first technician who performed the diagnosis correctly identified the problem, but then ordered the wrong part. The incorrect part was then shipped ground, so it took almost two weeks to show up. At which time a new technician was dispatched to install it (took another two weeks), this technician immediately identified the wrong part had been ordered and had to reorder the correct part. Luckily he was able to call the distribution facility and explain what had happened up to that point. They overnighted the part and the technician returned the next day to install it. Local managment of the original technician really didn't seem too concerned with our dilema as we were out of warranty.
Tips
Don't buy washers and dryers because of brand loyalty, it can be a very costly mistake. Find out what kind of problems each brand has been experiencing and how well the repair service supports them before you make the big purchase.
