Description of service
My washing machine broke and I didn't know what to do because I am not at all mechanical. It is definitely not under warranty any more, partly because I got it secondhand! I knew it wouldn't be worth the price to get someone from the manufacturer out here so I looked online at the online classified ads and found somoene who said they fixed washers for $50 plus parts. I asked him and I'm not sure what he did, but he did indeed come out and fix the washer for $50! Something was off-balance or something. All I know is that it didn't work and now it does and I am happy about that.
Review of Service
The guy was just a handyman who advertises on the free online classifieds site but he was great. He was quick and didn't make a mess. He was also not out of my budget, which was really important.
Tips
For women, it might be a good idea to have someone there with you in your house if a repairman comes. I'm sure they're all very honest, but just in case. Also, if you have a nice washing machine, you might want to get a "real" repair person from the company. I knew that if he messed up my washer, it wasn't any worse off but that isn't true for everyone!
