Description of service
The service was repair of our washing machine. The $150 represented labor and no parts. The parts were minimal anyway and we supplied them. The service was the actual labor of fixing it. It is an old washing machine that was starting to have some problems, then eventually stopped working completely.
Review of Service
While the repairman did a fine job, and the machine is working fine (as of now), I regret spending so much. Seemed like a lot of money to pay to fix a machine that was so old to begin with.
Tips
My best tip would be to consider purchasing a new washing machine instead if you are going to spend as much as I did to repair one that is as old as mine was. My machine was 15+ years old and in bad shape anyway. While it is working now, who knows how long that will last again? Prices are down these days so had I of known I would be spending $150, I would have never placed the call in the first place and opted to purchase a new one instead, probably with a service call warranty. I regret spending $150 to fix something that I could have spent about $500 or so to just buy new.
