Description of service

We had our cat's teeth cleaned. We were also given a special tooth paste to use to maintain her teeth.

Review of Service

It was fine. We had our cat in for her regular check up and shots. The vet was a little surprised when we told her we'd never had her teeth cleaned. She said it was especially important as we feed our cat soft cat food. She cleaned her teeth with a special brush and did some kind of flossing thing but the floss looked weird. She also rubbed our cats gums down. Our cat did not like any of this and was mad at us for a few days but that's how visits to the vet go regardless. The vet recommended some cat treats that help to combat tarter and recommended we give our cat one every few days, at least.

Tips

If you feed your cat soft food you should have this done more often. If you feed your cat dry food, the dry food does do some work to clean the teeth and keep them strong but it's still important to have them cleaning sometimes, just like for people. You should also clean the cats teeth once a week, or at the very least once a month, to prevent future teeth problems.
