Description of service
My cat needed to get a root canal. He was taken to the vets office and needed to be examined, tested for sedation, sedated, and the root canal performed. He was dropped off in the morning and picked up in the evening so no kennel costs were accrued.
Review of Service
I was very pleased with the quality of service received. My cat chewed on metal, he didn't like the cage he was in. He wound up breaking his one tooth in half. I consulted with the vet, and they examined him. Since the tooth was broken in such away that the root was exposed, bacteria would be able to travel in. I did some research and found the same was true. I opted for the root canal with limited pre-op testing. I only did the minimum testing required to make sure it was safe for him. He was brought home that evening, toothless. The tooth has not posed any problems since. I am glad I choose to have the procedure done.
Tips
I would suggest sticking with the veternarian you are familiar with. I had called around, thinking that 400 dollars was expensive. After several calls, they were all in the same range. Sticking this the vet your animal normally sees makes it easier for follow up care.
