Description of service
I paid $211 for one dental cleaning for my cat. This was a preventative treatment and the cost did not include any extractions. The service included a screening to make sure she was healthy enough for the procedure, anesthesia, dental cleaning, and aftercare. The cost did include a $20 discount as per a special that the veterinarian was offering.
Review of Service
I feel I received very good care. I felt confident about the services they performed and the precautions they took for her health. She was monitored by machines the entire time and was given the safest anesthesia possible. It is the same kind they use on humans. Her teeth look great and hopefully this will help prevent future dental problems.
Tips
My best tip would be to wait for either February or August, which are when most veterinarians offer special discounts on cleanings. February is pet dental month, and you can usually get a 20% discount. Also, if you are the type of person who seeks preventative medicine for your pets, you might want to look into insurance and/or wellness plans to help defray the cost of services. I also would suggest calling around to different offices to see what they charge. I called two close to my home and one was a little bit less than the other.
