Description of service
The service was repair to our Gekko speedboat. We recently took it on vacation and accidentally ventured into too shallow of water. We scraped the bottom and busted up the prop pretty good. The scraps and damage to the bottom was the worst. The repair was done at a local marina back home after trailoring the boat back. The $1100 was full fee for the boat repair, but included mostly labor as opposed to parts.
Review of Service
They say the happiest day is when you buy your boat, but the happiest day is also when you sell your boat. I now know why they say this. It is frustrating spending so much money to keep the boat in order. The repair itself went well, but spending over a thousand dollars for it just seemed like way too much. I guess that is the going rate though, so I couldn't really complain. Just hurts to have to pour so much money into the boat over and over again.
Tips
My tip would be to only buy a boat if you know enough about the maintenance and repair that you feel confident you can do most if it on your own. Otherwise you will be like me, stuck with thousand dollar plus repair bills!
