Description of service
Last year when I took my boat out of the water I discovered that I would have to get a new prop or propeller installed for the next year. I decided to wait until next season started so I wouldn't have to pay until then. When I went to pick up my boat from the winterizer I took it to a local shop that I thought would have the correct prop. They came out and inspected the current prop which looked like it had gotten in a fight with a rock and told me that it couldn't be fixed and that it would take a week to get the correct size in. I waited a week and brought the boat back in. It cost $350 for the service and parts fee. Overall expensive, but about what I expected.
Review of Service
The week long wait would have been a much bigger problem if it were closer to a holiday when everyone would be at the lake, but since I was just putting the dock and boats in I could stand to wait a week for the part and repair. The boat actually goes faster and smoother than it did before. It was surprising the difference a new prop could make.
Tips
Boat repairs are expensive so make sure that you budget for this type of thing because there will most likely be an unforseen cost each year.
