Description of service
My husband's second hand boat had a small hole/leak in the bottom. The welding service shop we took it to had a minimum price of $65 for any type of boat welding. Luckily, our problem wasn't too involved so we weren't charged extra.
Review of Service
The service was really fast. We had our boat done while we waited. I'm glad we called ahead and had been given a time to come in, rather than dropping it off and risk being passed over for more expensive jobs. While I hope its a long time before we need to repair our fishing boat again, I at least know now that it's not too painful financially.
Tips
Call around to compare prices and don't necessarily stick to the companies or shops closest to you. The place we ultimately chose was just a slight detour off of our regular route to the lake, and since we knew it would be fixed while we waited, it was worth it to us to save the extra money. The boat shops and welding shops closest to the lake were the most expensive of all of them.
If you're ever in the market for a used boat, always check for potential leaks before buying. In our case, we could've known ahead of time that we were about to be out an extra $65.
