Description of service
When I found out i was pregnant in September of 2007, I made sure to schedule regular prenatal appointments. I had one every first monday of the month and then as my due date got closer, they became more frequent. My doctor examined me and measured my stomach to make sure I was on track and had me get bloodwork to ensure that there were no medical complications. Each visit was short and to the point, and the doctors and nurses made sure that I met every milestone, including my sonogram at 20 weeks.
Review of Service
I was very happy that my doctor caught a complication in the last few weeks of my pregnancy. My son was born emergency c-section and that was due to the fact that my doctor monitored me effectively even though i was not a high risk pregnancy. I was very happy with the quick action of my doctor, but would have liked to have more time with him during the routine visits in order to ask him questions. There were a lot of pregnant women he was assigned to and that made his visits short and to the point. I would have liked him to ask me more questions and answer more of mine.
Tips
Make sure to make a list of questions you want to ask your doctor BEFORE you get there. When the moment comes that he is in the room with you, you will probably forget what you want and need to ask. You might be too caught up in the baby's heartbeat, or seeing your baby's ultrasound and forget everything you've been thinking about for the weeks in between your visit. It's also important to not get your feelings hurt when your doctor doesn't turn out to be like the doctors on Tv. Reality is, they are very busy and they see a hundred pregnant women a day. They can involve themselves emotionally in every pregnancy.
