Description of service
I had a regularly scheduled prenatal checkup. This included a urine test (I had to bring my first morning's urine with me to the office), a weight check, and a check of my blood pressure. At previous visits, I had to give blood for some sort of test. After the nurse did all this, I was seen by the doctor. He measured my fundal height and went over any questions I had.
Review of Service
The service was good. I absolutely love this doctor. He was a little bit more brief than usual, because he was late getting to the office. I think he had a delivery in the morning, which is why he was late right off the bat. That is one downside to using an obstetrician where there is only one doctor in the practice. I love the level of comfort I am developing with him, but I guess I run the risk of him not delivering my baby if he is sick or on vacation or something. Then it would be someone that I've never even met before.
Tips
Don't be afraid to shop around for doctors. With my first child's birth, I thought I would just stick with my regular gynecologist. After all, I had been with the same office since I was 18. Unfortunately, for OB work, they were completely awful. In hindsight, I really should have switched during the pregnancy. By the time I got really fed up, it was the last few weeks, and I was already too late. Find someone that you will be comfortable with.
