Description of service
This was a candle making party hosted by a local retail store that specializes in hand poured soy candles. It was for myself and 10 of my friends. For $20.00 per person, we met at the store for the class. The employees has snacks and beverages for us and some nice music playing. They had wax all ready melted and ready to go. They explained to us what they had already done before we got there (heated the wax, etc.) and then they let us pic our jar and scent. After we made these choices, we set the wick in the bottom of our jar, poured the soy wax into the jar, added the scent of our choice, gave it a little stir, and let it set. We talked, learned about the benefits of soy verses parafin wax, the importance of cotton wicks, and a little about the store's origins. The class/event lasted about 2 hours.
Review of Service
This was a blast. All my friends loved it too. They also offer to do this in your home for a little more money and I think I will do that in the future. At the end we all had a 10 oz jar candle to take home and use. The scent list to chose from was amazing and the finished product burns clean and scents your whole home. I would definitely do this again.
Tips
If you have the chance to do this, do it. Its a great way to spend an evening with friends, and you get a candle out of it. It is a little pricey for just a 10 oz candle, but the class is also included, plus some nice little finger foods and non-alcoholic beverages too. The store closes too, so its just you and the people you invite and the teachers. GREAT idea!
