Description of service
This class was a six week class. We met once a week for two hours. So, I received 12 hours of instruction for $70. Minimal supplies were provided, so I spent an additional $125 on supplies. I bought a lot of extras. I could have easily outfitted myself for this class for about $50. The classes consisted of candle making basics. It was a beginner class and most people had never tried candle making before. We then made several different types of candles ... using paraffin, bees wax, and a combination of the two. WE did molded candles as well as dipped and rolled. At the end of the class, we each had made about two dozen candles.
Review of Service
I believe this was an excellent service. At the end of the class, I knew how to make many different kinds of candles and how to work with many different kinds of materials. And at $70, the per class price worked out to be something just a bit less than six dollars an hour. And for that price, I had the enjoyment of the class as well as now a lifetime of knowing what I learned. To me, that seems like a real bargain.
Tips
I think a good instructor makes all the difference when taking any kind of class. Also, being open to the possibilities of the class can also make it more enjoyable and productive. For something fun like candle making, doing it with a friend or even a group of friends also adds to the enjoyment.
