Description of service
The instructor is a professional musician who plays in two different bands and teaches music at a university. The clarinet lessons go for an hour at a time at a rate of one hundred dollars per hour. The instructor advised me that it was best to meet at least twice a week, but he preferred three sessions a week. He begins at the beginning with easy scales and works his way up as the student demonstrates he or she is ready.
Review of Service
I began playing the clarinet in junior high school after seeing the film "The Benny Goodman Story." I stopped playing a few years later choosing to spend my time focusing on school and athletics. I decided, as a New Year's resolution, to pick up my clarinet again after nearly twenty years. I found this gentlemen through referrals from individuals at music stores. He is truly a musical prodigy. He can play any instrument you can think of and his instruction to his students is clear and direct. My only problem is I can think of a million other ways to spend two hundred dollars a week. So I stopped going to him.
Tips
Find an instructor who has teaching experience. I've seen a lot of musicians who are musical masters, but are incapable of teaching others to do what they do.
