Description of service

I had played the clarinet in high school and when my church decided to start a band to sing with our choir, I wanted to join and play the clarinet. However, I needed to brush up on my skills and I don't know anyone who plays the clarinet who could help me.

I took intermediate one on one clarinet lessons with a local teacher and paid $25 per lesson. I went to a total of about 20 lessons over 5 months.

Review of Service

I found an ad for a local high school music teacher who offered classes out of his home. It was the perfect situation, as I just needed to brush up on my skills and re-learn some of them. The one on one attention was exactly what i needed. We didn't use a workbook or lesson plan. Every class I would just go in and we'd go over whatever I'd decided to work on the week before. After about 5 months I felt comfortable that I was up to snuff and I stopped going. I had nothing negative to say about the experience.

Tips

Try to find local high school teachers who are looking to supplement their income. You can get a great deal on cheap lessons and help them make ends meet at the same time.
