Description of service
I paid $200.00, which was the co-pay on my insurance, for tubal ligation after the birth of my fourth child. The actual charge was $2000.00, but the remainder was covered by my insurance.
Review of Service
While I was pregnant with my fourth child, I decided that I didn't want to have any more children. I talked with my doctor about the procedure and the side effects. After finding out that my insurance would cover most of the cost, I chose to have my tubes tied after my baby was delivered. It was a simple process, in which a small incision was made directly below my navel. It did leave a small scar, but it is barely
visible. Because I had the procedure done following te delivery of my baby, I didn't really notice any side effects other than cramps (which I experienced after the birth of my previous children).
Tips
This is the perfect birth control for people who are absolutley positive that they don't want to have more children. But, because the cost of having it reversed is so expensive, you should think carefully before doing it. Many insurance plans cover the cost, so be sure to check with your insurance company if your considering a tubal ligation.
