Description of service
I had tubal ligation surgery done after the birth of my third child. It was a decision that thought about and planned beforehand. It was a simple procedure, and well worth the money. The procedure itself was done laparoscopically on an outpatient business. The entire process took about four hours. The incision made was 3 cm, right above the belly button. I entered the operating room, was sedated, and woke up in the post-anesthesia care unit. I experienced a little cramping and nausea upon waking up. The cramping lasted about a day. My post-op instructions were not to drive, not to lift anything over 15 pounds for several weeks. The major side effects I experienced were a bloated feeling (like I had gas build-up) and cramping, especially around my belly-button area. I'd say I was fully recovered in about a week. I resumed normal daily activities and sexual intercourse. I have heard some women say that they experienced major cramping and bleeding for weeks after, but I didn't have these problems. I would advise anyone interested in this procedure to thoroughly discuss it with your physician and partner, as it is meant to be a permanent procedure.
Review of Service
I had no problems as a result of my tubal ligation. I recovered fully within one week and didn't experience excessive cramping or bleeding after the surgery.
Tips
I would advise anyone interested in a tubal ligation to discuss it thoroughly with their partner and physician before having the procedure done as it is meant to be permanent.
