Description of service
I had a tubal ligation that involved cutting, burning, and tieing the ends to ensure they would not grow back. It was done as in the daysurgery section of the hospital. I was there at 8am and home by 2pm.
Review of Service
The staff was kind and knowledgable. They made sure to put us at ease and to explain each step of the procedure. Surgery was quick with no complications and once I was awake it was only and hour or so and I was home. I could have done without the bedside arguing over whether I should have the tubal ligation or my husband the vasectomy when we had already spent two years deciding.
Tips
Make sure to have someone with you at the hospital to ensure that you have someone to take you home and watch out for you and your belongings. Remember to rest as you have just had surgery, and to take the pain pills when you need them. You should be able to return to work after 3-4 days so make a long weekend of it so you have the time to recuperate when people are home for the majority of the time. Also remember to have your emergency information and wishes known by your person there with you.
