I contracted with a moving company to move me from Fort Worth, TX to Tallahassee, FL. The service was designed where I would be responsible for loading and unloading the moving truck, I was just paying for the actual transporation of my items. The way that it was charged was not by weight, which is customary with many moving companies, but by the amount of space that I used in the moving truck. They used that same truck to pick up more items effectively sharing the moving cost with someone else. They drove the truck from the home I was moving from to the new home and left it there for me to unload. I called them to come and pick up the truck when I was done unloading my items.

The service was excellent. I highly recommend using this format of moving. It is more cost-effective than hiring a full-service mover but much more convenient than having to haul your own goods as well. While you have little to no contact with the driver of the truck, your items are well secure and they insure your goods up to a certain value.

When shopping for moving choices be sure to shop for prices as much as possible. Be creative when you are thinking about a way to move your items. There are many options and this is one way to do it.
