Description of service
Upon the sale recently of an investment condo, I had need for a one way long distance mover to transport assorted furniture from Atlanta, GA to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Furniture consisted of two bedroom sets including box spring and mattresses, a dining room set, and a living room set. Assorted lamps and other accessories were included also. Service included pick-up, wrapping and other necessary pre-move actions, loading, transport, and delivery and unpacking to a storage facility. 3 movers showed up at the point of origin.
Review of Service
The service was generally good. Movers did show up over 2 hours late which did present a problem with the elevator. The unit being located in a high rise necessitated reservation of the applicable freight elevator. The lateness of the movers caused the time to exceed the hours alloted for the elevator, however fortunately the building management was accomodating. Otherwise, this could have presented a major problem. Packing the truck took less than an hour and half and was smooth and efficient. Transport time was not a concern of mine and I agreed to 10 days. Actual delivery was on the 9th day after pick up. Movers were polite and professional.
Tips
Best to probably avoid the ultra cheap no name movers. Small savings could be offset quickly by damaged goods. Be sure to reserve plenty of time for your elevator if you live in a highrise.
