Description of service

The price given was for a crew of two men to carefully pack, move and unload roughly 2,100 pounds (which included belongings that fit into a one-bedroom apartment) in a truck.

Review of Service

The service was friendly, personalized, and of a very high caliber, mostly because I hired a small, local company, similar to a 'mom and pop' service, as opposed to a larger national company. The packing was carefully and securely done, and everything (including my china, glass, mirrors, etc.) arrived to my new apartment in perfect condition. The service was also completed in a timely manner. Some larger services I looked at would have taken longer to move my belongings because they sometimes move multiple shipments at once, to multiple locations along the same route, which ultimately saves you money, but again takes more time. When the crew arrived to my new apartment, they were incredibly responsive when listening to my directions as to where to place each of the boxes and unpacked my belongings exactly as I would have hoped.

Tips

I highly recommend you do your research in advance, obtaining quotes from both local and national companies. I also recommend you do your research online and seek out websites that offer quotes from many companies at once, based on the information you enter about your moving needs. Occasionally, multiple companies will compete for the lowest quote to win your business. Or, if you're good with negotiation, you can use the information and quotes you receive from other companies to lower the quoted price of a company whose services you most prefer. If you decide to choose a local or even a national company, be sure to research their credentials with the Better Business Bureau and/or moving credentialing organizations before you sign a contract, to ensure your belongings will be packed and moved safely and securely.
