Description of service
For $4.00 fee for up to 8 people to get into the park and $20 plus tax fee for a camping site, the total was $25.40. You can rent canoes to go down the Hillsborough River, but we didn't. There's a fort where the "white men" fought the Seminole Indians and on the weekends you can tour it - we did that, it was free. There are a lot of trails for walkers and for bicycles. They also have a swimming pool that's open part of the year.
Review of Service
I loved it !! We went for the July 4th weekend, although it's been a family tradition for years. There are 112 campsites and usually they're about 1/3 to 1/2 full. This year, of course, they were full. It cost me more in gas to get to the park and home than the cost of the campsite !! You can have a campfire for cooking or you can go to the concession stand; it's open for breakfast and lunch.
Tips
Staycations... the new buzz word.
Spend your summer discovering what's near your house that you may not even know was there!!! State and national parks usually have a fee, but county and city parks are almost always free.
