Description of service
This state park offers camping, hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, picnicking, fishing, horseback riding and general sight-seeing. I camped with my family for three nights in this state park. We had 1 of 20 reserved drive-in campsites in the park Although you don't have to reserve a site, it might be recommended during peak seasons. The park charges $12.00 per night, per campsite, and that includes one vehicle and up to 8 people. We stayed for 3 nights for a grand total of $36.
Review of Service
This state park was absolutely gorgeous. From it's beautiful views and intoxicating natural setting I enjoyed it immensely. It was so peaceful and serene; there was no traffic noise or irritating car alarms to be heard at all-only the wind through the trees. You can tell the park is well respected by both the park employees and its patrons because it was immaculate; like so many parks, it was not littered with trash everywhere you look. The only drawback (if you could call it that) was the price. But perhaps I'm just cheap. I thought that $12 a night was a little steep but in the end it was well worth it to see the smiles on my family's face.
Tips
When deciding to camp at a state park like this I would recommend checking far enough in advance of your stay to see if you should make a reservation or not. I would also recommend when at all possible, make sure you have all the supplies and food you might need before you start camping as sometimes nearby retail stores tend to charge a premium for the things you may need for your camping experience.
