Description of service
I was taken to the Emergency Room at the hospital after having tripped and injured my back. After being admitted, I was taken to a room and examined by a nurse and then examined by a doctor. After additional tests and x-rays, I was taken to a hospital room for an overnight stay.
The cost of #4.370.00 was for all services and the room.
Review of Service
I was admitted to the hospital Emergency Room after a relatively short period of time. The wait for a nurse was also only a few minutes. The arrival of a Doctor took almost an additional 30 minutes. It was totally unacceptable. I asked twice when a DR would be in to see me and both answers were "just a few minutes."
After x-rays and and an examination, I was taken to a hospital room and remained overnight. The room was clean and the TV worked. I was given some pain medication and fell asleep until about 2 AM. Was in pain and after calling a nurse, was given a sleeping pill.
The next morning, about 11 AM ,another doctor examined me, gave me three prescriptions and released me.
The nurses were very good. The doctors seemed to be going down a production line and displayed very little personality or personal interest in the patient.
The costs were about what is to be expected before insurance deducts a dollar amount.
Tips
Have any medications that you are taking, your insurance information and personal information with you when going to a medical facility. Ask questions as to your treatment and what to expect as a follow-up. Do not leave until you understand your condition and expected recovery time and possible complications.
